On October 4, 2023, Reid D. Wirth of Baldwin Park, CA, was called by our heavenly Father to eternal rest.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 6 from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Geneseo Community Center, 541 E North St, Geneseo, IL 61254.

Reid was born in Geneseo, Illinois October 2,1967 to Robert and Wilma (Bevins) Wirth.

As a young man, he was an exceptionally talented wrestler and tennis player. He enjoyed fishing with his family and had an unbridled curiosity and passion for life. Reid graduated from J.D. Darnall High School, Geneseo, in 1986 and went on to attend Eastern Illinois on a tennis scholarship.

In 1988, Reid moved to Florida and began an auto restoration apprenticeship. His desire to compete did not keep him there and in 1989 he moved to Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from Harvest Bible University in Los Angeles in 2002 with a degree in ministerial studies/community outreach serving as a youth pastor and mentoring youth gang members. It was at Harvest where he met the love of his life, Telma Marroquin. They were married on May 24, 2003.

Their family grew with the addition of a daughter Sophia and a son Harley. He was employed as a Site Manager for InterCon Security Inc. Reid was highly successful as a body builder serving as an administrator and contributor for Classic Bodybuilding. He also coached Tuff Kids Wrestling.

He knew no strangers and welcomed opportunities to mentor youth and adults alike on health and nutrition. He had a passion for cars, especially station wagons but his real passion shone the most for his wife and children. He loved watching Sophia play softball and volleyball and Harley play rugby and football.

Reid was very nostalgic and loved God fiercely not being fearful to defend his beliefs openly and publicly. He also had a special love for his hometown of Geneseo.

Survivors include his wife Telma, daughter, Sophia, son, Harley, mother, Wilma (Tom) Leon, sister, Renee Kurtenbach (Bill), brother, Rodney Wirth (Karen), mother-in-law Esther Marroquin, sister-in-law Edith Obeso (Ishmael), and brother-in-law Eric Marroquin. He was a fun-loving uncle to his nieces and nephews; Ashley, Michael, and Sarah Heineman, Grethe (Wirth) Cowan, and Ishmael and Natalie Obeso.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert F. Wirth and father-in-law Epifanio Marroquin.

His absence diminishes the world and his passion leaves a void to fill for those left behind.
